The European emission trading scheme is by far the world's largest emission trading system. Markedskraft follows all the major inputs to this market and provides forecasts for short-, medium- and long-term development of the prices in this market.
Markedskraft estimates the development in emissions from the power sector through a model that includes most of the European countries. A simplified model of industrial emissions is added to make a complete model of emissions. In the model Markedskraft is assessing future emission scenarios and estimates a fundamental fair price for carbon allowances. Prices are modelled with an stochastic model developed in-house, that reflects the bankability of credits and thus the influence of future technological and regulatory developments.
Our market outlook is presented in a "Daily Carbon Market Report" and in further details in our "Weekly Carbon Market Report."
We also follow closely the international supply of UNFCCC carbon credits and make supply forecasts for the full period.
